College in High School | Schools

TROY - The College in the High School program at Hudson Valley Community College will offer online courses for the first time this fall to junior and senior high school students attending any New York State high school.

Online courses begin August  27, prior to traditional College in the High School courses which start on September 4, and will end on December 14. The business, social science and language subjects will be taught entirely online by Hudson Valley faculty. Many of these courses are intended to supplement those which may have been eliminated from high schools due to budget cuts, or may be courses that students have not been able to fit into their required high school curriculum.

Enrolled with high school peers from throughout New York State, students access all coursework via computer on their own schedules and log in for a certain number hours each week, depending upon the course. Online courses will not affect students’ academic schedules.

Tuition is at the reduced rate of $50 per credit hour, one third the cost of regular tuition. Full-tuition scholarships are available to students who qualify for the federal Free and Reduced Lunch program.
