Seven charges dismissed in Troy ballot fraud re-trial
TROY - Seven charges have been dismissed in the Troy ballot fraud re-trial of Michael LoPorto.
Judge George Pulver dismissed the charges Wednesday morning and opening statements are set for 11 a.m.
LoPorto is the former Troy city councilman accused of possessing forged ballots in the 2009 Working Families Primary, as part of a Democratic plot to steal the election.
His first trial, with co-defendant Ed McDonough, ended in a mistrial. Attorneys hope the re-trial wraps up in two weeks.
