HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. - The trial of an accused baby killer in Rensselaer County is on hold because of new evidence that's surfaced in the case.
Jury selection was supposed to begin today in the trial of Joseph McElheny.
The Hoosick Falls man has been accused of killing his 4 month old daughter, Ina in May 2010. Prosecutors told the Times Union that they want to re-present the case to a Grand Jury. That's based on new evidence they say suggests that Ina may have been the victim of longtime abuse, which could result in more charges.
