Copeland murder cases headed to grand jury | Crime
TROY - The case of a Troy teen accused of killing her father is now headed to a grand jury.
Trinity Copeland was supposed to be in court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing, but that appearance was waived.
The 17-year-old is accused of shooting her father, Harlan Copeland, in their home last Friday morning.
In a statement to police she said she did it because her father told her to.
The Troy High School student remains in Rensselaer County Jail without bail.
