Historical Society to launch $100K fundraising campaign
Rensselaer County Historical Society (RCHS) has announced that it will be launching of a new fund-raising campaign: the Andersen, Lindholm, Shaver Challenge.
According to a press release issued by the historical society, they are launching a $100,000 challenge campaign to raise endowment and building reserve funds. An anonymous donor will match contributions at a 1 to 1 ratio, leading to a total fund-raising amount of $200,000.
Trustees of the RCHS have already pledged more than $20,000 to the campaign.
The release also states that funds raised will also be used to create a Building Reserve Fund. RCHS owns two 19th century townhouse buildings, the National Register listed Hart-Cluett House and its Carriage House, serving as a house museum, and the adjacent Carr Building, housing a research library, galleries, meeting spaces, extensive collections storage space, and staff offices.
