The founder of County Waste is getting a big thank you tonight from people in Troy.

Scott Earl toured the newly remodeled Boys and Girls Club today along with Mayor Rosamilia and former Troy mayor, Harry Tutunjian.

Earl was there to see how his donation of roughly two million dollars has been spent.

He says he is very proud of what the organization has done.

As thanks, the club presented Earl with a plaque and a basket of gifts.

Bike For MS campaign

You may see some broken bicycles parked around the Capital Region this summer.

They will hopefully drive people to register for Bike MS, a fundraiser for the local chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

It will take place September 22 at Birth Hill in Schodack.

The bikes are broken because MS takes away your mobility.

They are bright orange because that is the color of MS.

Volunteer firefighters needed

There's a statewide effort going on to slow down the growing shortage of volunteer firefighters.

The state Firemen's Association held a news conference Tuesday morning in Waterford detailing the second annual Recruit NY program.

All this week many volunteer fire companies will open their doors to area residents to show them what it takes to be a volunteer firefighter.

They're urging you to consider taking part.
