Concert series begins Saturday night | Arts & Culture

TROY  – The City of Troy’s summer entertainment season gets into full swing this weekend with the start of the Powers Park Concert Series on Saturday night.  Funk Evolution will headline the first show of the eight-week concert schedule.  The Powers Park Concert Series is free to the public.

“The Powers Park Concert Series has grown in size and stature and we look forward to another great season this year, starting on Saturday night,” Mayor Lou Rosamilia said.  “The lineup of performers, combined with the great atmosphere and family-friendly environment make it among the best entertainment options in the Capital District.”

Powers Park is located at 110th Street and Second Avenue in Troy.  The series runs over eight Saturdays in July and August with each show held from 6 to 8:30 p.m.  Food and non-alcoholic beverages are available at the event.  Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in Powers Park.

July 21              Nitro Jive – Swing Night

July 28              Carmine Dio & Roaring Thunder – Country Night

August 4           Emerald City – Classic Rock Night

August 11         Solid Smoke – Motown Night

August 18         Al Bruno – Oldies Night

August 25         Bluz House Rockers – Dance Party III
